February 21, 2012
The January market report shows 2012 off to a strong start with home sales continuing to rise. The market indicators in other areas also showed improvement last month.
- New Listings increased 2.5 percent to 885.
- Pending Sales were up 12.3 percent to 429.
- Inventory levels shrank 1.5 percent to 3,513 units.
- The Median Sales Price declined a slight 0.6 percent to $83,500.
- Percent of Original List Price Received increased 0.6 percent to 93.0.
“REALTOR® members in our area have been busy the last few months, during a season that typically shows fewer transactions,” said Tug Pierson, 2012 UPSTAR MLS President. “That activity is a good sign that confidence levels of buyers & sellers are growing. We remain cautiously optimistic about the 2012 market; greater improvements in labor will be the best catalyst for a strong and lasting housing recovery.”
