Fort Wayne, Indiana ( Sept., 18, 2020 )—Today, the Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (UPSTAR MLS) released its August 2020 local housing market report. Comparing last month’s figures to the same time frame in 2019, the leading market indicators are as follows:

  • New Listings decreased 9.3 percent to 1,000.
  • Pending Sales were up 11.1 percent to 949.
  • Inventory levels shrank 38.9 percent to 853 units.
  • The Median Sales Price increased 6.8 percent to $170,750.
  • Percent of Original List Price Received increased 2.0 percent to 98.5.
  • Months Supply of Inventory was down 45.0 percent to 1.1 months.

“The housing and stock markets continue to be the leaders in the economy. In August, showings and pending sales remained at strong levels while housing inventory remained limited, continuing the competitive bidding market we have seen in recent months. With the stock indexes at or near record highs as mortgage rates remain near record lows, signs point to a busy fall housing market.”

The data from the August 2020 Monthly Indicators report tells consumers how the northeastern Indiana housing market is performing according to nine different indicators with comparisons to 2018 and 2019.
